Jim Corbett — the man the park is named after — was born and raised in Nainital, just kilometres from the forest he would eventually help protect. He learned to track, read animal signs, and move through jungle before he could read a map.

Jim Corbett is part of the Terai Arc Landscape — a corridor of 13 protected areas spanning India and Nepal, designed to let tigers, elephants, and rhinos move freely between reserves without crossing human settlements.
